Shuddhi — Purification
शुद्धि
Bathe and wear saffron, green or yellow — Ramji's auspicious colours. Face East. Best time is at sunrise. Sunday and Wednesday are most auspicious for Ramji's worship. Tie a red kalava on your wrist before beginning.
स्नान करें और केसरिया, हरे या पीले वस्त्र पहनें। पूर्व दिशा में मुख करें। पहले कलावा बाँधें।

Tulsi Arpan and Avahana
तुलसी अर्पण और आवाहन
Offer Tulsi leaves first — they are the most beloved offering for Ramji. Then state your sankalpa (intent) holding Tulsi, akshat and water in your right palm. Invite Ramji with the avahana mantra.
सबसे पहले तुलसी पत्ते अर्पित करें। दाहिने हाथ में तुलसी, अक्षत और जल लेकर संकल्प करें। आवाहन मंत्र बोलें।

Shodashopachara — Sixteen Offerings
षोडशोपचार
Perform the sixteen traditional offerings: Aasana, Paadya, Arghya, Aachamaniya, Panchamrit abhishek (then clean water), Vastra (yellow or green cloth), Kalava (red thread), Chandan (sandalwood), Akshat (rice with turmeric), Pushpa (Tulsi + red flowers), Agarbatti, Diya, Naivedya (banana, coconut), Tambula, Pushpanjali, Pradakshina.
सोलह उपचार करें: आसन, पाद्य, अर्घ्य, आचमन, पंचामृत स्नान, वस्त्र, कलावा, चंदन, अक्षत, पुष्प (तुलसी + लाल), अगरबत्ती, दीपक, नैवेद्य, ताम्बूल, पुष्पांजलि, प्रदक्षिणा।

Sindoor Arpan
सिंदूर अर्पण
Apply sindoor to Ramji's forehead. Sindoor has a unique place in Ramji's worship — the story of Hanumanji applying sindoor to his entire body for Ramji's long life (after seeing Sita Mata wear it) is why sindoor is considered especially sacred for both Ramji and Hanumanji. Offer akshat mixed with kumkum alongside.
रामजी के माथे पर सिंदूर का तिलक करें। हनुमानजी ने सीता माँ को सिंदूर लगाते देखकर स्वयं पूरे शरीर पर सिंदूर चढ़ाया — इसीलिए सिंदूर रामजी-हनुमानजी दोनों की पूजा में विशेष है।

Ram Naam Japa
राम नाम जाप
Chant "Shri Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram" 108 times on a Tulsi mala. According to the Padma Puran, the recitation of Ram Naam is equal to reciting the entire Vishnu Sahasranama. Saint Tulsidas in the Ramcharitmanas calls Ram Naam the greatest mantra of Kaliyuga.
तुलसी माला पर "श्री राम जय राम जय जय राम" का १०८ बार जाप करें। पद्म पुराण के अनुसार राम नाम का पाठ सम्पूर्ण विष्णु सहस्रनाम के बराबर है।

Aarti, Doha Recitation and Prasad
आरती, दोहा पाठ और प्रसाद
Perform Ram Aarti — wave the lamp clockwise before Ramji while singing "Shri Ram Jai Ram" or the aarti. Recite at least one doha from the Ramcharitmanas before concluding. Distribute banana and coconut as prasad.
